Global Cultures eBook Awaits Your Curiosity

November 14, 2023 | By: Dr. Palina Louangketh, Founder and Executive Director, Idaho Museum of International Diaspora

The anticipation has finally arrived! Read with us to learn, discover, and explore our common connections through cultures. It is with pure enthusiasm to announce the publication of our eBook – Global Cultures: Engaging Diasporas Around the World in Global Contexts, a partnership between Idaho Museum of International Diaspora (IMID), based in Boise, Idaho (USA), and the Faculty of Arts at Matej Bel University (MBU) (Slovak: Univerzita Mateja Bela) in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia.

Dr. Anna Slatinská, PhD from the Faculty of Arts at MBU – one of our founding members of the IMID’s Global Leadership Council – spearheaded the development of this eBook and served as the project manager. She and I worked tireless nights to compile and co-author this book – a memorable journey for the both of us because our hours of operation were an 8-hour time difference with approximately 5,500 miles between us.

In her role as project manager, she worked closely with our cohort of seasoned writers who contributed articles from their respective research, industry sector, and/or lived experience that speak to the approaches of engaging diasporas – those who have been displaced from their origin homelands – in the context of global cultures.

We invite you to learn more about our eBook – Global Cultures: Engaging Diasporas Around the World in Global Contexts – on our website.
